Home-Start was founded by Margaret Harrison in 1973 in Leicester when she saw a need for a service, visiting families with young children experiencing difficulties, to aim to prevent increasing crisis and possible family breakdown. To this day the service looks to meet the needs of the family and to work in partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies to ultimately improve family life.

Home-Start Surrey Heath was founded in 1989 and was the first Home-Start scheme in Surrey. This year we celebrated our 22nd Anniversary.

In 2010/2011 the scheme supported 83 families with 178 children.
